The End
Friday, July 24, 2015
Today marks the end of another chapter in my life. For the past year I have been commuting from Fort Worth to Dallas to a job I love. Well my friends, life with a baby has shaken things up and the commute just no longer makes sense for our little family. So, I drove my last morning commute to the Big D today.
This was one of the hardest decisions in my life, as I love my job, the people I work with and most of all, the women I work for. I have cried more over this decision than most (hey maybe its baby hormones), but its been a hard and sad week. It's not often that you get the chance to work for women who inspire you, challenge you, and have a vested interest in your career. I know I have said it here before, but I have learned so much from this job and my bosses this past year.
I have also learned a great deal about myself. I have learned that sometimes you have to put you first. I am such a people pleaser, so Me often takes a back seat to, well everything and everyone else. Well, add a baby and husband into that mix, and something's gotta give.
So, I will say ado to my small office with a view of Dallas and move on to a new chapter in my life and career. And... hopefully this means a little more love for this ole blog of mine that has seen some serious neglect in the past year.
Happy Friday ya'll and tune in Monday for news on what's next for me.
Monday Rant
Monday, July 20, 2015
I wish I had wonderful exciting thing to tell you all about from my weekend, but alas I do not. Instead I have a rant, so if you do not feel like hearing me vent, do not read on.
My weekend was going quite well for the most part other than a baby who is congested to the hilt and has a cough that she just hates, she now has awful diaper rash from the continuous BM's she is having and now cries because it hurts so much. I did manage to take her to my friend's for a bit Saturday and let her kick her little feet in the pool. Sunday would have been great other than waking up to a sick husband, a still sick baby, and a dog who refuse to use our new back yard. So up I go to tend to everyone. My mom came over so J and I could run a few errands and we decided to run by the rent house aka my old house I own, to pick up a rake so we can reseed our new backyard. Well, glad we did, as a pipe busted or came lose and the entire crawl space is flooded with hot water. And hot water is draining from the cleanout on the side of the house as well. My tenant were out of town so I went inside to check their things. Good part, no water inside, but all the hot water caused the wood floors to bow. So, we call the leasing company I use, and they send a plumber, i.e. $$$$ for emergency plumber. The plumber arrives, shuts off the hot water and the water and now has to pump all the water out of the crawl space before he can even assess the problem. FYI, it pumped all night and was still going this morning when I went to work.
End rant. Prayer please.

In 5 years
Thursday, July 16, 2015
I saw this topic on my gorgeous BOFF's blog yesterday and thought I would give it a whirl. So, in 5 years...
- I will be 37 almost 38, so same age as my hubs is now.
- Evie will be 5 and about to start kindergarten (whoa)
- Chloe will be 10 and Sophie 7 (sweet pups will always be puppies to me though)
- We will hopefully still be living in this house that we just bought
- we may have another baby (but as of now.... we are one and done)
- This ole blog of mine will probably be dusty and not used
- Hubs will have celebrated the big 40
- We will hopefully had our dream vacation to Hawaii
- We will have taken Evie to Disney in Florida where the grandparents live
- I will be partner at a law firm or pretty darn close
- I'll look back and say wow I wish I were still only 32.
Friday Favs!
Friday, July 10, 2015
It's Friday. I have survived my first week back to work, Evie has loved school and she is 3 months old today!
My sweet girl is growing like a weed! I swear she never misses a meal and sleeps like a champ. She is in all 3-6 month clothes and will outgrow some of them soon if she keeps growing like this. I admit it was so sad to pack away her newborn and 0-3 months stuff when we moved and not unpack it.
This little one continues to light up our lives. I cannot wait to see her awake for two whole days this weekend!! I miss seeing her giggles and laughs since I am gone for 12 hours a day. But, I know she is learning and growing and her teachers are taking great care of her, and so is daddy when he picks her up.
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend, and send some prayers my way Monday. ( I will give you more details on the prayer request next week).

Baby Overload
Wednesday, July 8, 2015
I love my baby. I love her with all my heart. In fact, she has taken over our lives. Our entire schedule revolves around E. From dusk til dawn, well minus those hours while I escape to work, E is the focus our world. But let's be honest, I am on baby overload.
For the past three months I have eaten, slept, drank, and dreamed baby girl. Oh, I also packed, unpacked and am trying to get a new our in order. I also had to deal with my rental house and new tenants. So, honestly, I was ready to be back in the working world. Not so much for the work, but the chance to be totally focused on other peoples' needs for 8+ hours a day. Yes, I miss my baby, but let me tell you how nice it is to not have to manage her feedings, diapers and naps for once.
I also find it nice to have more around me than baby girl. I was never a person who overly posted by baby on facebook/instagram and for good reason. 1. Poor girl has no choice in what I post and someday may kill me that her entire life is open for the world to see. 2. There are some seriously sick people out there who will steal her sweet picture and that well creeps me out. 3. I do not want to hear about every little thing your baby does either. I love hearing milestones and seeing monthly posts about your sweet little ones because let's face it, those things are huge! But you know those people who overly post about their children. I would never dream of posting every tiny thing E did everyday, it would annoy me let alone my friends. So, while I think everyone is entitled to post what they want on their own social media pages, I for one will not overload you with baby either, instead here are some of my favorite memes as of late, sent to me courtesy of my co-workers.

I survived
Tuesday, July 7, 2015
Day 1 back to work and everyone survived. According to her teacher E is a great baby and loved her new friends. She was exhausted when I finally got home around 7pm. I admit it was so hard to only see her awake for about an hour. I do know that Daddy is going to have to get his own routine down soon. Poor hubs picked up E from school and she was so cranky and tired and he had no clue what to do. So, when all else fails, feed her!
I know it will take all of us a little time to get acclimated to our new "normal." Until then, you will fin me rushing around and arriving at work covered in baby drool.

Weekend Happenings
Monday, July 6, 2015
So, last week flew by as did the weekend. We closed on our house, moved, and celebrated America.
Today, well today I am back at work and missing my peanut, but I am assured she is fine and doing well. So pardon our boxes.....

And enjoy our sweet baby in her first swim! (and the rare appearance of the hubs on my blog).
