After I got all dolled up for Saturday night....
I decided I should probably care more about how I go out in public. Or maybe I shouldn't. I admit, after having E, my beauty routine has gone way down hill. Perhaps its the fact that I also do not have to dress up for work everyday that makes applying more than concealer and some mascara seem like overdoing it.
However, I decided I should take better care of my skin if I'm going to be going practically naked around town. So, I took a little trip to Sephora on Sunday (sans baby) and OMG. I admit I spent a tad more than I planned, but hey, I have the same eyeliners and eyeshadows that I did when I started practicing law, so I deserve it.
I am a fan of Makeup Forever. I use their foundation and powder. I have also used their concealer and mascara and like it. But, I went back to a tried and true concealer. NARS. I know, I just can't stop it. It glides on and just covers it all. I also picked up some new contouring and highlighting sticks so I could attempt to lessen the effect of my ski-jump nose. I also love this blush.
I also decided to do a better job of my actual skin care. I have lovely post-partum acne. So I opted for Murad. I love this product because it fights the acne, but also is good for my 30-something skin. And I picked up another one my favs for fighting that I tanned way too much in my 20's skin. This has been one of my go-tos since about eh 29.
I know I won't always go out of the house wit my full on face, but at least the face you see may not look as scary. I admit as I have gotten older I am much more a fan of a natural looking skin, so if I'm going to flaunt it, I at least want it to be as flawless as possible (ok of not any worse than it already is.) So if you see me with a big red zit, I say, oh well! I earned that zit, as I hold up my 20 pound baby girl who squeals with delight!
